2010 Distillery of the year (Malt advocate awards) Cooley has earned a reputation as a world class Distiller for the quality of its Irish whiskeys.
The oldest continuously licensed whiskey distillery in the world began distilling in Kilbeggan in 1757. The finest grain and malt whiskeys are blended together for the smooth, sweet taste and lovely malty finish that is Kilbeggan Irish whiskey. This makes it an easy to drink and mixable choice for any Irish whiskey consumer.
Tyrconnell is a historic brand that Cooley has revived. Distilled in the old Irish tradition this pure pot still single malt whiskey uses only the most natural Irish ingredients of barley and fresh spring water. The resulting whiskey is then left to peacefully mature in oak casks stored in 200 year old granite warehouses allowing it to develop its full flavour and character. It is currently the fastest growing Irish Single Malt.
Connemara has a very distinctive production method that gives it a smoky taste profile – drying malting barley over peat fires. This technique was lost up until Cooley created the award winning Connemara and it is now the only Irish distillery to produce a Peated Single Malt. This traditional malting method is then combined with all natural Irish ingredients before undergoing batch distillation in copper pot stills. Maturation in high quality ex-bourbon oak barrels then follows. Connemara is a multiple Gold medal winner and was voted Best Irish Single Malt in 2009.
